Here's your typical "resistance" leader now encouraging attacks against a democratically elected government.

Congresswoman Maxine Waters (D-CA) openly called for people to form a mob and physically confront members of Donald Trump's administration if they see them out in public.

Waters.. doesn't live in the district she represents and paid her daughter $750,000 for Democratic fundraising activities

she lives..in a 6,000-square foot, $4.3 million mansion in one of the wealthiest neighborhoods in Los Angeles. Now how’d she afford a place like that? After having spent the last 40 years working in government? “How does she keep getting re-elected despite not living in her own congressional district?”

By threatening to secure the border, President Trump is threatening a Washington DC-based business model that makes money for a lot of connected interests.

So, how's that whole North Korea denuclearization thing proceeding? Dems, do you have any concerns, having seen the very detailed (sarcasm) agreement? The Iran deal was so terrible, and this one is so great, right? Why the fuck aren't the Dems demanding some kind of (completely justified) emergency session about all this? This is fucking worse than "peace in our time". Fuck me.

A slight aside: How the fuck, on a Sonic Youth forum of all places, can people like tesla be present? I'm all for differing political opinions, but absolute blindness and koolaid consumption at this place of all places really baffles me. Sonic Youth is the antithesis of a "Republican Band", aren't they?

But this is the same guy who believes Putin did not interfere in the election, because Putin said so, and he has ignored what his own intelligence agencies told him. What is FBI doing about all this? Fuck all, most likely. Putin laughs himself to sleep every night.

In a very sinister way I'm glad the Supreme Court upheld Trump's travel ban. More ammunition against Trump when the history books are written.

The Soup Nazi 06.26.2018 07:03 PM

DO NOT CONGRATUL— oh shit too late.

Trump calls Erdoğan to congratulate him on election win

Skuj 06.26.2018 10:13 PM

FUCK it's been a shitty day if you hate Trump as much as I do.

Top-ranking democrat Joe Crowley, who many thought was poised to become the next speaker of the house, has just been defeated by progressive challenger and democratic socialist Alexandria Ocasio Cortez in an enormous upset:

https://www.vox.com/policy-and-polit...imary-new-york

Her platform:

- Medicare for all
- Housing as a human right
- A federal jobs guarantee
- Gun control/assault weapons ban
- End private prisons
- Immigration justice/abolish ICE
- Public financing of elections
- Restore Glass Steagall
- Mobilizing against climate change

I feel SOMEWHAT optimistic for the first time since the 2016 Sanders campaign... Thanks to the people of New York's 14th district. Now please vote for Cynthia Nixon in September

In a Guardian interview, David Lynch said this about Trump (and I'm quoting the complete part that talks about politics):
Quote:

Politically, meanwhile, Lynch is all over the map. He voted for Bernie Sanders in the 2016 Democratic primary and thinks – he’s not sure – he voted Libertarian in the presidential election. “I am not really a political person, but I really like the freedom to do what you want to do,” says the persecuted Californian smoker.

He is undecided about Donald Trump. “He could go down as one of the greatest presidents in history because he has disrupted the thing so much. No one is able to counter this guy in an intelligent way.” While Trump may not be doing a good job himself, Lynch thinks, he is opening up a space where other outsiders might. “Our so-called leaders can’t take the country forward, can’t get anything done. Like children, they are. Trump has shown all this.”

Then Trump tweeted:
Quote:

“Director David Lynch: Trump Could Go Down as One of the Greatest Presidents”
with a link to the Breitbart article

So Lynch wrote this open letter:

Quote:

Dear Mr. President,
This is David Lynch writing. I saw that you re-tweeted the Breitbart article with the heading – Director David Lynch: Trump ‘Could Go Down as One of the Greatest Presidents in History.’ I wish you and I could sit down and have a talk. This quote which has traveled around was taken a bit out of context and would need some explaining.
Unfortunately, if you continue as you have been, you will not have a chance to go down in history as a great president. This would be very sad it seems for you – and for the country. You are causing suffering and division.
It’s not too late to turn the ship around. Point our ship toward a bright future for all. You can unite the country. Your soul will sing. Under great loving leadership, no one loses – everybody wins. It’s something I hope you think about and take to heart. All you need to do is treat all the people as you would like to be treated.
Sincerely,
David Lynch

The Deep State is ecstatic! For the first time, a Republican will win Queens in decades. You see, Cortez isn't an Israel Firster, you can see the Israeli news making this point

https://www.haaretz.com/us-news/.pre...mary-1.6218292

And there is Cynthia Nixon trying to mooch some of her success. No way will the establishment allow an antiIsraeli to win in Queens.

I loathe Cuomo - I have a list of his tyrannical acts on my front door - but Nixon would be worse than useless

tesla.....you're remarkably simple for someone who thinks himself so elevated in thought.

frankly I'm really disheartened and disappointed by the attitudes harboured by some people on here, tesla aside because obviously he's just a stupid piece of shit lol. I came onto this forum as a kid pretty much, still in high school, and I would read the words of people, think they were really cool and they had interesting opinions/cool taste/seemed like nice, genuine, heartfelt people. in some weird way it was nice to look on here and see people who I could imagine myself bonding with over shared interests in a way that's difficult when you're a kid. so to see people expressing adoration for/being emboldened by the actions of a truly despicable person really recasts stuff for me, it's really quite tragic. regarding certain individuals in particular, reading this thread is just really, really disappointing, to see that they've devolved into (or perhaps have finally been given the platform to exhibit the views of) pig-headed people.

we're truly in dire straits as a species.

Gee I don't even try for attention, all I have to do is not think in the "Approved Way", whatever that is these days. I forget most of you don't come here from a hardcore punk free thinking backgound. most of you are here from Carrrie Underwood and Katy Perry and the DNC.

I'm sorry I don't believe in open borders.

Sometimes you just keep it simple. You have this strange idea not only that the USA and Europe can absorb the 7 billion poor people in the world, but I'm supposed to give up my life for that.

Sorry if I'm a little skeptical

Somebody obviously gave Lynch a talking to. He really is a great artist, but clearly, he has no clue what is going on outside his work.

Pretty much every day I walk to work west on East 6th Street, across Cooper Square, past the dipshit twins playing badminton in the middle of the sidewalk next to Cooper Union, past the cube in Astor Place, to the uptown at Broadway at 8th St, and I see at least a dozen caucasian dopers sleeping under the building scaffoldings all over the neighborhood, and in the restaurant stairwells, they migrate to Starbucks to use their bathroom and sleep in the front rooms, there are usually a half dozen or so spread out around astor place; they are the campers with their sad dogs, a new code for dope user, dressing like a camper with their template camo colored rags pieced together and sad dog. And when I say dope, I mean heroin or other hard opiates, not weed, but they're probably also polyabusing meth and coke and alcohol and dope and then they od and the taxpayer gets to pick up after them. I generally only see white people sleeping on the street and networked young white junkies with their smart phones begging at curbside with their precious emotionally gripping signs - the campers get up to work during the day - there is a circuit among campers that knows they can come to Manhattan and Brooklyn and make enough from panhandling and stealing amazon packages from lobbies to pay for their dope and smart phone - I think the only reason the East Village won't be flooded with campers this summer is because the rest of the country is so heavily flooded with dope from China and Afghanistan and Latin America that the dopers don't need to join the campers here with the relatively easy and consistent supply historically of hayron in NYC. I'm without respect for the campers - I could give a fuck if they shoot dope through their eyeball, just don't make everyone else involved - because they always, everytime, without exception, leave their cardboard and other garbage behind. that someone else will clean up. Its kind of interesting because I've read most of the useful heroin books: WS Burroughs, Alexander Trocchi, Iceburg Slim, Donald Goines, Jim Carroll, Herbert Huncke, etc.. Maybe these campers are messing with meth too. But any of you are welcome to come to East 6th Street and help the junkies. They are there right now with their sad dogs as you read this, I guarantee it. You could help the junkies under the scaffolding on 2nd Ave and East 6th and then pop into Mighty Quinns for some roasted meats! The junkies are still there now suffering. Won't you help. The immigrants are going to do fine, they aren't lying around the streets of New York begging and stealing and doing dope like the white people are. thank you and coffee.

"someone" is pumping this meme - it ran on the elevator ad screen at my work today, all day long. Nothing runs on that unless it is carefully placed by Captivate corporation. Why are they so eager to plant this meme in people's minds. Civil War always turns out like Scene one of Outlaw Josey Wales, not Scene one of The Undefeated. But that's what 'they' want.

The tension here in NYC is palpable. If we make it through the summer without some event it will be a a miracle.
