I share your annoyance raging_nelly. I was online at 9:30am but there was a problem with the allocation of tickets. I re-submitted but to no avail... sold out in three minutes! Don't fret though because some lovely people bought some tickets for us, probably just in case the event sold out. All we need to do is go on eBay and part with £120+

Really hope the legit fans have a ball though.

I'd guess It's not like Ticketmaster where when you put the ticket in the basket, it's reserved for you for the next ten minutes.

I suspect that lots of people managed to put 2 tickets in their "basket", but that those tickets aren't actually theirs until they've paid for them, so they lost in the race to check out. SeeTickets probably have to do it that way though, otherwise loads of people could just go onto the site and render it inoperable by putting tickets in their baskets that they have no intention of actually buying, just to make it difficult for people who actually want to buy them to do so.

That's no consolation, I know, just an attempt at a semi-logical explanation.

It just gets better and better: Support is by Chora, who are utterly fantastic.

Hmmm, I saw them earlier this month and thought they were a bit crap to be honest.

However, Lanterns who also played that night were truly utterly fantastic!

yeah, death to false improv!!!

nah, i'll take your word for it that they can be utterly fantastic, but i was fairly disappointed when i saw them. their set lacked direction imo and went on for much too long. maybe they're better in an extended line-up as opposed to a duo.

I'm so glad I managed to pick up a ticket for this... I pressed order about 3 seconds after it went half past.

sarramkrop 04.21.2009 01:04 PM

Chora were really good when I saw them. Let's see, there were 1....2....3....4...5 of them. They have a good drummer too.

Greetings from the wilderness... I'm in a forest. ''What fun it is.'' I enjoy the deep peace of the wild / its beauty and the vagrant life I lead. However, it has some MAJOR drawbacks.. i.e. One misses the Sonic Youth updates at times!! And second you feel like a hungry hungry hippo when you hear what you have missed! (The SY Scala gig is sold out). WWWHHHYYYY!!!!!!!!
Anyway I'm very EXCITED about The Eternal. And I must say Scared Trickster sounds ''ELECTRIC''

Just got back from this. Really great show, and a pretty different setlist to the show I saw in Austria on Wednesday. We had Making The Nature Scene with Thurston on bass and mark on guitar, which was awesome. Also, the new Lee track What We Know was played, and it sounded brilliant. Full setlist to follow...

This Is Not Here 04.27.2009 07:12 PM

Oh and I chatted properly to Thurston and Steve - woohoo!

blunderbuss 04.28.2009 12:52 AM

Kim: "When we come come back we'll know all the new songs better, so you won't have to listen to all these oldies".

I liked that. Made me chuckle.
