TV SHIT is the only one i don't own,
cuz
you know
it's
SHIT

nancykitten 01.31.2009 06:41 AM

TV Shit is amazing.

I really don't regret any SY purchase. I even love the rubbish.

Even Free Kitten's terrible songs!

greedrex 01.31.2009 07:13 AM

^^^excuse me but TV shit is totally worthless!!!! shitshitshit, it's evn in the title. accept it!

Chris Lawrence 01.31.2009 08:12 AM

i have to say that i quite enjoy the NIC FIT/NO PART II double-shot encores they were doing on the fall '92 dirty tour w/ the boredoms. crazy high energy. most of that is NOT captured on TV SHIT however....

i'm sure nobody gives a (tv)shit but i've pinned down which shows 3 of the 4 glorious tracks are sourced from...

Semperet 01.31.2009 10:19 AM

Syr 5 is tedious--a glitch in the otherwise splendid series. The Mats Gustaffson (sp?) disc is tough going but worth a listen. Ghosts and Flowers I never really liked but it's not the worst.

Sonic Youth 37 01.31.2009 10:57 AM

In The Fishtank, no contest.

atsonicpark 01.31.2009 11:00 AM

Yeah, 5 sucks dick (and not in a good way).

greenlight 01.31.2009 11:24 AM

Richard's Kern book Action with Thurston's music accompanying that book. totally worthless to me.

It's We Are The Princesses
this track is mindblowing
I like SYR5, probably my less favorite though
This thread actually made me listen to In The Fishtank :D

RanaldoNecro 01.31.2009 12:52 PM

Actually come to think of it there is a lot of worthless shit in the SY catalogue..

hahaah, yes I agree. and checked the trackname and you are right. that track is worth the purchase for the whoe release, at least for me

Dead-Air 01.31.2009 01:06 PM

My worst purchase was the two tickets to see them on the NYC Ghost and Flowers tour that fell out of my back pocket never to be seen again. The two more I purchased to replace them were a great investment though...

nancykitten 01.31.2009 01:48 PM

I haven't listened to In the Fishtank for years. I really need to give it a listen again to see if it's as bad as that.

I'm one of the few people who dig SYR5, it seems.

viewtiful_alan 01.31.2009 04:25 PM

ANd in non-Kim releases...

I was so unbelieveably dissapointeds by the dullnes of this album.

RanaldoNecro 01.31.2009 04:41 PM

I mean I love richard hell and I love thurston, but the whole thing was just so dull.

But yeah I pretty much have no faith on Kim as a solo artist anymore. I will have to hear it myself ffrom now on before I buy anymore of her stuff.

Magic Wheel Memory 02.06.2009 07:48 AM

Mine was a 1993 Sonic Youth Signature Series Volkswagen. The goddamn thing spent more time in the shop for repairs than it did on the road.

Androol 02.06.2009 07:55 AM

purchase?

There were a lot of pirated versions imported from Hong Kong. At first glance it was impossible to tell the fake from the genuine, but it didn't take long for the cheap materials to start causing problems and then it was obvious which was which. If I were you I'd change my mechanic, because any decent place would have known in a moment that you had a cheap imitation and would have warned you so that you didn't keep throwing good money after bad.

HaydenAsche 02.06.2009 10:14 AM

Rather Ripped.

Lurker 02.06.2009 10:22 AM

NYC Ghosts and Flowers

sonic sphere 02.06.2009 10:25 AM

tv shit-more because of the price than anything else. it cost me 12 euros for less than 10 minutes of music!

jean-nicolas 02.06.2009 10:28 AM

Rather ripped.

batreleaser 02.06.2009 11:36 AM

on that note, "rather ripped".

batreleaser 02.06.2009 11:37 AM

Are you sure that's it? My understanding was that the entire series was flawed, because they let Thurston and Lee design the power train. In retrospect, I guess great musicianship doesn't always translate to great automotive engineering.

What does "SS" mean? Steve Shelley? He designed the timing belt, which I guess seemed appropriate, since he's a drummer. Still, it was a disaster. The pistons in my engine kept getting damaged, which cost a lot of money. I guess drumming and engineering are not exactly the same thing.

SuchFriendsAreDangerous 02.06.2009 05:50 PM

Experimental Jet Set.. Trash.. and no Star... though it is not that bad, but it is the worst in comparison..

Rob Instigator 02.06.2009 06:00 PM

me too.

Androol 02.06.2009 11:22 PM

which means it still melts your face off right?

toledo79 02.07.2009 10:53 AM
