How I <3 1000 Leaves

nomadicfollower 05.09.2006 04:02 PM

What?
How is Murray Street losing!
Murray Street is the best.

Rob Instigator 05.09.2006 04:08 PM

this was a tough one.

screamingskull 05.09.2006 04:08 PM

murray street, by far this album is superior!

I agree.

PunkerViolence 05.09.2006 04:26 PM

A thousand leaves...wildflower soul and snare girl

Everyneurotic 05.09.2006 04:33 PM

they both suck

!@#$%! 05.09.2006 04:35 PM

i was just listening to ATL yesterday. it has more variety. it's way more experimental. it wins.

Agree. Today, this and Daydream Nation are my favourite SY albums.

RdTv 05.09.2006 05:45 PM

One of the hardest decision I've ever had to face. It's childish I know, but honestly, if there ever were two albums equally longed for it would be these two. Still undecided.....

RdTv 05.09.2006 05:49 PM

There is no way to decide...they are equal, completely equal in every single way, my passion, and my awe for these records arein total unison.

holy-reverb!! 05.09.2006 06:41 PM

its pretty even.

Laila 05.09.2006 07:25 PM

i don't like either

selkcip 05.09.2006 07:45 PM

not a hard choice. meille feuille

samuel 05.09.2006 07:59 PM

A Thousand Leaves are left to stay and...

qprogeny79 05.09.2006 08:09 PM

m leaves. murray street is quite good at the beginning but goes downhill after karenology.

RdTv 05.09.2006 08:26 PM

Well its come to this: nostalgia. For me Murray Street will be the better today. The late night insomniac drives through the ghetto listening to sympathy for the strawberry, spending literally weeks at work listening to this album, the dozens of other reasons I have for this album outweigh the nostalgia I've got for Mille de Feville. Damn its the closest second that you could dream of having.

IntoTheGroovey 05.09.2006 11:58 PM

Thousand Leaves.

fishmonkey 05.10.2006 04:43 AM

the street

Everyneurotic 05.10.2006 08:37 AM

a thousand leaves has an experiemental blend that meshes amazingly with their songwriting, which becomes more epic and open-ended here. i love their use of pedals and their structures. a beautiful album.

murray street finds them relying on instrumental sections, yet for the first time, in it's grand majority it's not improvised noise, instead it's carefully constructed clean passages and interplay. it has more an emphasis on that yet, most songs are very song oriented and traditional in a sense.

both albums have a lot more in common than people realize

candymoan 05.10.2006 09:09 AM

a thousand leaves..
or, as selkcip put it, meille feuille...

sonic sphere 05.10.2006 09:32 AM

a thousand leaves. it seems to get a lot of criticism but i really like it

Androol 08.13.2006 09:43 PM

whoa, its a dead heat.

k-krack 08.13.2006 10:05 PM

Murray Street. I just haven't gotten very into AKL yet. i like Lee's trax though. but in my opinion, Karen(ology/Revisited..?) would win it for murra street if it was just a single.

atari 2600 08.13.2006 10:09 PM

Murray Street, but it's close.

Live tour-wise it's very close as well, but also Murray Street.

nature scene 08.13.2006 11:03 PM

That's a tough choice. Both in my top 3 probably. I'm going to have to go with 1000 leaves though... the sounds are so funky.

Asim 08.13.2006 11:14 PM

Murray Street is totally better than A Thousand Leaves. Karenology is the best song of this decade, and probably the best since Telephasic Workshop (like 6 years?)

Murray Street 9.4
ATL (lol) 7.5

The Empty Page 9.5
Disconnection Notice 7.5
Rain On Tine 9.0
Karenology 10.0
Radical Adults Lick Godhead Style 9.6
Plastic Sun 8.5
Sympathy For The Strawberry 9.0

Could someone upload the extra Japanese track if that's allowed here, please.

Daddylikes 08.14.2006 12:42 AM

Amazing Vote.

I picked ATL.

Pax Americana 08.14.2006 01:11 AM

Murray St.

ATL has never been one of my favs, I like NYC G&F much more than ATL.

Torn Curtain 08.14.2006 03:14 AM

Mille-feuille

toxic johnny 08.14.2006 03:26 AM

A 1000 Leaves contains some of Kim's best ever performances.

Vocally, lyrically and instrumentally.

Lipslikewindows 08.14.2006 09:06 AM

I can't believe this is even being asked! A Thousand Leaves. DUH!! :)

HairwayToSteven 08.14.2006 09:13 AM

A Thousand Leaves. It's definitely one of my favorite SY releases.
