I hope it goes well! hooray!

screamingskull 06.02.2007 08:25 AM

you HAVE to post the encore set list

Washing Machine 06.02.2007 08:44 AM

I cant wait to hear what its like. Of Course they say its shit I wont believe them.

king_buzzo 06.02.2007 09:00 AM

hmm, hope you have fun, the lucky people that are going, that is.

drrrtyboots 06.02.2007 10:02 AM

Set list indeed if an encore happens.

maggot brain 06.02.2007 10:47 AM

i had a dream about this show last night...they didnt play any songs from daydream nation though, just the diamond sea, and LAX by hot snakes...probably not a very accurate premonition

drrrtyboots 06.02.2007 10:49 AM

Diamond sea would be nice but hot snakes...stick to DDN.

neptuneg 06.02.2007 02:47 PM

what if they deviate in the middle and play into the groovey or something

mushmanski57@hotmail.com 06.02.2007 05:09 PM

Shouldn't this be over by about now? Did any board members go?

screamingskull 06.02.2007 05:18 PM

neptuneg 06.02.2007 05:24 PM

i am uber excited. uber. goober.

Trasher02 06.02.2007 05:34 PM

I'm going to see the DDN show on Pukkelpop and I'm pretty stoked. I hope it'll be better the the show in Brussels which was kind of a let down...

mushmanski57@hotmail.com 06.02.2007 05:37 PM

I'm excited just to read a review or even a full setlist (as in an encore(s)).

neptuneg 06.02.2007 05:47 PM

and youtube vids.

This is why they are not going to post here...I only wish instead of DDN they played EVOL so I could die in peace..heh...:D

I'm not sure that they will ever do a full EVOL set, but I wouldn't at all doubt that many more songs from EVOL will/are being ressurected. After all, Shadow of a Doubt made a seemingly random comeback in 1998 when they were playing almost no old songs.

triggercutter 06.02.2007 08:53 PM

i just found the first flickr pictures of the gig!
http://flickr.com/photos/melzie/526906960/
im so happy to see that marks still there

drrrtyboots 06.02.2007 08:58 PM

My looming question is finally answered. I'm glad he's there too, he's funny.

great bass player and a great guy

drrrtyboots 06.02.2007 09:03 PM

He's like the guy that would still suggest going on the swings at 50.

StarfieldRoad 06.02.2007 10:34 PM

Yea I can't wait to hear what the setlist was like, if it was just DDN or some other stuff added for a longer gig. I'm going to see them July 13th at Pitchfork in Chicago.

Anyways less than one hour ago I just got done with a gig where we played Silver Rocket and Mildred Pierce as an encore.
Set:

Under the Bridge (RHCP)
[Instrumental]
No Rain (Blind Melon)
Cherub Rock (The Smashing Pumpkins)
[Instrumental] / Expressway to Yr. Skull (tease)
---
Silver Rocket
Mildred Pierce (everyone paused to clap because they seemed to all be like wtf)

neptuneg 06.02.2007 11:31 PM

yes! Kim is using her thunderbird. I want to see some youtube vids!

neptuneg 06.03.2007 12:08 AM

any more info?

StarfieldRoad 06.03.2007 12:14 AM

It's 6am by them so I doubt we'll find anything out for another 3-4 hours, but who knows someone who went might get up before 9-10. I personally wouldn't, but someone else might.

neptuneg 06.03.2007 12:16 AM

good point

SynthethicalY 06.03.2007 12:22 AM

I want to know about this.

sergisonic 06.03.2007 12:22 AM

hello everybody,
just returning of one of the best sonic days in my life!!! it's late (7:10 am) and i'm really tired. i hope to explain more about the show early, but now, only the (amazing and surprising) setlist:

daydream show (kim, thurston, lee, steve):
teenage riot, silver rocket, the sprawl, cross the breeze, eric's trip, total trash, hey joni, providence (what a noise!), candle, rain king, kissability, trilogy (the wonder, hyperstation, eliminator jr.)

bonus (kim, thurston, lee, steve, MARK IBOLD)
incinerate, reena, jam runs free, pink steam.

And let me see...

1h45mins of music

highlights: the seven first songs and the trilogy were amazing (silver rocket, the sprawl, hey joni, total trash -slower than in the LP- and hyperstation sounded really great, hits of the festival).

all of the intros and the outros of the LP have been played on the show.

needed more rehearsal for eliminator jr and rain king :)

more about the show soon... i need to sleep.

really thanks to sonic youth, for (again) one of the best moments of my life.

i'll repeat...

sergi
from Barcelona, with sonic love

SynthethicalY 06.03.2007 12:23 AM

MMH makes me anxious for the July.

Thanks so much for the setlist, hope all is fixed up for the Pitchfork fest.

nicfit 06.03.2007 03:09 AM

So, for the DDN songs they played just the 4 of them and mark joined them for the encores? Sounds really nice. Hope kim will made it till the end of the tour with no problems (fingers crossed). Rain King is one of my all time fav, hope they'll make it better on the next dates, and PERFECT when I'll see them in July (hopefully, not sure yet). Thanks for the report!

lalie 06.03.2007 04:30 AM

Thanks for sharing that sergisonic!

sonicl 06.03.2007 04:38 AM

Thanks, Sergi. Good to hear you enjoyed the show.

whorefrost 06.03.2007 04:39 AM

speaking of daydream shows, another one has been announced for Glesgae, so it seems.. looks like i'm definitely offloading my roundhouse tix...

Kyohan 06.03.2007 05:17 AM

Glasgow would be a lot easier for me to get to as well. Oh well, I've got flights booked for London now.
Can't wait for these gigs now - thanks for the report.

mushmanski57@hotmail.com 06.03.2007 06:01 AM

Thanks for the report!
