Confusion Is Sex. Dirty has great songs but as a whole it doesn't impress me as much. Confusion is Sex is badass.

I guess my opinion is the same as yours.. Dirty has got great songs, and I really like the production..it's powerful and it rocks.. but Confusion Is Sex is something with some sort of ambience in it, a better album overall..

this was the hardest choice for me, but Confusion is just a monolith

and a ques to demonrail, for future rounds if CIS wins, do you consider the reissue version with Kill yr Idols tacked on or the original 9 track LP?, this could be a question that sways some, i voted here based on the 9 tracks alone which made it that much harder, the addition of the EP tracks just improves it's votes

where does the judge stand?

I suppose it's fairer to stick with just the original, minus Kill yr Idols.

Dirty. Confusion is too noisy.

If a God-like monolithic document of what noisy electric guitar can achieve in the poetic realms of art can somehow be "too" noisy, sure...

Dirty is a decent alternative rock album. Confusion is the sound of bells ringing in the collective heads of American society.

Confusion. One of my favourites, whereas Dirty is one of my least favourites.

CIS is ten times better, but I´m giving my vote to Dirty for nostalgic reasons

Confusion for sure, though if Dirty had been up against Goo, jet set, or washing machine i'd have voted Dirty in a heartbeat

hm confusion is a jazz album somehow.sonic phsycho sometimes i need that one to stop my personal amok and crime phantasys.
by the way butch van vig is the opposite of steve albini.
his sound is to clear.to poppy.but of course dirty is great.

oh, my... I was giving dirty my nostagia vote ´cause i thought it wouldn´t stand a chance against CIS. Should Dirty kick Confusion out of the cup it would actually be a scandal. Probably won´t happen thou

CIS has a lot of interesting and creepy songs, but the vocals are so wimpy and lame I can't stand to listen to it. Thurston sounded like he hadn't finished going through puberty yet or something. And Kim sounded weak too. But I don't know if I like Dirty that much better....
