EVOL cover

Who is that girl on the EVOL cover? Is she 'important' in any way?
I've been reading 'Goodbye 20th Century' and it doesn't seem to say anything about her.
Just curious.

Lung Leg

It's from a Richard Kern movie called 'Submit to Me'.

I highly recommend checking out the Richard Kern Underground DVD...on an empty stomach.

I always thought that was a little boy on the Sister album cover art.

I love the EVOL album cover though, it's great to look at.

Yes indeed, that is what my cover looks like. I didn't realize there was more than one. I wish I had the lung leg version.

Yeah, um. I prefer to only see pics of her from 80s.

Gainsbarre 07.20.2009 08:37 AM

That's not Lung Leg on 'Sister'. Different model. If I can dig out my Kern books I'll try to find her name.

Lung Leg was in a few Kern films. My personal fav is "You Killed Me First". It's probably on youtube, everything is now it seems. Worthwhile fer sure...

ZEROpumpkins 07.20.2009 09:08 AM

Couldn't this thread have been solved by typing Evol into wikipedia?

all your artwork questions answered, including the ones you didn't even know you had.

edit: okay, all but one question: can anyone w/ the SST sleeve tell me what the picture that's blacked out on the blast first version is? next to the marilyn moore lyrics.

I think it must be her. They looks kinda the same, with the same pose and everything. It's a really great video!

I've visited there many times :)

Chris Lawrence 07.23.2009 02:29 AM

to be honest, sometimes i'll read things on my site that i don't have any recollection of ever writing or knowing. for instance, just now i read this re: the 'dirty' deluxe edition:

Note: CD booklet = "New White Kross", LP booklet = "New White Cross"

who knew! well, me apparently...

these are the EVOL sleeves i refer to btw:

http://www.sonicyouth.com/mustang/lp/lp04v.jpg

http://www.sonicyouth.com/mustang/lp/lp04d.jpg

anyone have a better scan of the latter?

edit: how in the fucking hell did it take me 15 years to realize that's lung leg on the 'shadow of a doubt' panel in the CD booklet?

the cover of EVOL is a still from the DV69 video.

jetengine 07.23.2009 10:30 AM

I'm trying to remember who the dame is on the cover of Sister. I used to know. Was it that other softcore porn star that worked with Kern and has done a fair number of mainstream lesbian porno flicks? What's her name? Annie Sprinkle? Whoever she is, I love that image on Sister with "Stupid Motherfucker" written on her leg.
