which album would you want SY to do a tour of

I would want to hear Goo or Sonic Nurse in it's entirity.

Cantankerous 03.17.2007 12:41 AM

daydream

schizophrenicroom 03.17.2007 12:46 AM

daydream or maybe evol.

Everyneurotic 03.17.2007 12:54 AM

either this one:

or this one:

that would be interesting.

(i seriously would love the youth doing a mangled, dissonant version of roundabout.)

schizophrenicroom 03.17.2007 12:56 AM

i want to hear them do every spice girls song ever, followed by a full-band singalong version of jump.

Everyneurotic 03.17.2007 12:58 AM

or the classic, get rich or die tryin'

schizophrenicroom 03.17.2007 01:01 AM

oh, of course. steve does this amazing "in da club" cover you have to see to believe. when he and animal collective were opening for bruce springsteen around '83.. maybe '84, they'd always close out their set with steve dressed in his gangsta shorts and do-rag rapping his ass off. he's faster than something very fast.

Everyneurotic 03.17.2007 01:09 AM

yeah, halfway thru that tour, the boss felt he was being upstaged by steve, so he would bring sean paul for his 4th encore, they did a bad ass in a gadda da vidda; i was there and man, when they hit that final note, we had to rush to the mcdonald's and we barely arrived in time before they stopped serving breakfast.

and we were pissed because they ended earlier, turns out flea didn't show up for his massive ukelele solo.

schizophrenicroom 03.17.2007 01:16 AM

i missed breakfast because right after you guys left, they played it again but backwards. it made me forget about breakfast.

yeah, this guy devendra banhart or somethig had to take over for flea. it was interesting.

Everyneurotic 03.17.2007 01:21 AM

no way, fuck that dephteria banhard, whatever it's name is.

flea 4 lyfe!!!!!

still can't beat that whole two weeks song belle and sebastian played, i mean, try to forget day 4 when damo suzuki and then rick james jumped onstage and started to sing that cover of jesuschrist superstar. i mean, who could have thought they would cover the whole play, and three times as slow!!!! then again, that's what you get when you invite khanate for a jam session.

CHOUT 03.17.2007 01:30 AM

sister

Dead-Air 03.17.2007 02:05 AM

Hey, I've got it! How about if they recorded a new album and toured that one? I'm sure they could still put a "FROM THE '80s"tm after their name, so that y'all would still want to see them play...

Toxa 03.17.2007 10:42 AM

bad moon rising :)

greenlight 03.17.2007 10:47 AM

what about thread like what would be your SY's dream setlist you would like to see/hear (15 songs max.), hehe? same. hard to choose, but let say at this very moment, WM in Prague (which I missed) would blow me away.

I second that.

you pretty much got to hear all of murray street in alot of setlists during that tour, that great great tour. I missed them when they came to Toronto but I found an excellent boot of it that was streaming online for the longest time.

SYRFox 03.17.2007 02:08 PM

Bad Moon Rising or NYC Ghosts & Flowers

krastian 03.17.2007 11:14 PM

Washing Machine, silly.

WM!

Dead-Air 03.18.2007 03:59 AM

I suppose if they came clean and actually did the White Album cover they always used to say they were going to do, I'd be down for that. At least they didn't do it already twenty years ago, despite saying they would.

Anngella 03.18.2007 03:37 PM

Washing Machine or Goo (besides DDN)

the ikara cult 03.18.2007 03:53 PM

Itd be only worth it to do an older album, but id want to hear Murray Street.

through silver in blood.

screamingskull 03.19.2007 11:41 AM

a lot of people saying Murray Street!!!!, i'm glad, i think they should throw in a song or two from that album in the DDN tour this summer. (in the encore of course.)

fluxequalsrad 03.19.2007 11:43 AM

Rain On Tin should have never left the encore in the setlist.

screamingskull 03.19.2007 11:45 AM

or Karen Revisited, i fucking love that song. ANYTHING!!! from washing machine would be great to hear live also. I'm seeing them 3 times this summer they have 3 chances to play something from that album!
