Denver Show at the Gothic Theatre
 

Anyone from the forum going to this show? My fiance and I just moved to Boulder from New Orleans, so we don't know a soul in the area. If anyone wants to get ripped or not! before/after/at the show and make some cool friends in the area, pm, im, post, stalk!

Looking forward to an amazing setlist. Every night, the setlists get better and better.

We're heading to Denver around 4 or 5. We haven't been there since we moved to Boulder, so we're going to dick around a bit. I pmed both you guys our number.

Good show. They played nearly all, if not all, of "Rather Ripped," plus "Tom Violence," "Schizophrenia," "Mote" and one or two other songs that I can't remember.

Last nights show was chock full of the punk rock equivalent of elfin magic or something like that! I gotz mad chillz from the sonic soundz! Sorry i didn't get to hang with you others, i didn't get there until right before Awesome Color started playing. AC's drummer rox! Do you not agree? Sonic life is been very very good to me, I hope you all thought it was a rockin good time as well... peace out playaz

agree on the drummer, but the rest of the band was just ok. didnt really dig the singer guy much, with the cobra attack. funny though cuz in front of SY's bus out front there was this little kid asking me to shut the hatch on their van cuz he couldnt pull it shut from the inside. i thought, wow these guys look young. turns out it was their drummer, that kid looks like he's 12.

as for sy, sounded great. i hadnt picked up rather ripped yet (got that and murray st last night) so the songs were mostly new to me. but i still enjoyed it greatly. ears are still ringin'!

yo- their drummer is a she(i made the same mistake at first)! i said "hey" to her after the show, & she was way cool.

well now i really feel like an ass!

This is my first post here...I haven't read the FAQ....

I was at the show last night ! I didnt realize the drummer of the opening band was a girl till she leaned down right in front of me at the end of their set. She'd tossed a bottle back at one of her fellow band members that missed and hit this girl right next to me....it wasn't damaging, just a bit out of line and she heard some flak from an audient. Anyway...I was right under Kim the whole time and took over 100 pics of which about 25 came out pretty good...

I'm wondering....don't flame me for not going over this site yet...but can I post photos I've uploaded to my photobucket of the show ?

I really rushed into this site.....have been a member at Led-Zeppelin.com for ages. So this is my second band site to join....anyway...I just saw the Sonic Sharing forum where it may be more appropriate to post these photos..but what they hey ?....I figure it's ok since this thread IS the Denver show last night....

Here's the setlist....which included everything off Rather Ripped, which I think is PERFECT POP......I"m digging it. I've seen SY once before in Newport, RI during the summer of 1992.

Good Times iNdeed, cool pics/post more as you can/it's good to see them. i was like 2 people deep in front of Lee, if that makes sense. I think Lee is the most entertaining to watch. That fuckin handheld doohickey noisemaker he had was wicked. He wove it like a broadsword or some goofy shit like that. I havn't been able to get over it at all. I must weild one as well.

I got video of Lee with his noisebox from the other side of the stage, I also got video of Thurston shoving his guitar up into the balcony and then into the crowd. I'll upload when I can. The noise they were making was nuts.

I've been to boulder on vacation. It's a fucking awesome place. I've done laundry in the.. laundry place.. across the street from Dennys by the highway. Bart's CD Shack is good too.

I have miserably slow dialup. I'm out here in rural South Park County, Colorado. Anyway, I was wondering...is this a fan recording ?...from the audience or a soundboard ? I hope I can find someone to download for me and do a trade. I talked to this guy with an analog/cassette setup right in the middle of the Gothic, he had his mics on stands. You may have seen him. He doesn't compute so I didn't even ask if he'd trade. So...on with it...I have some more pics to post :)

actually, I haven't downloaded it yet so I can't comment on the quality

all shows on cotapers are usually audience, and im sure this is the same. id bet on it

I know this is way off the subject, and not even in the right thread, but...
If yr not doing anything on the 4th of July, my band is playing the Larimer Lounge, i have comp tix and we are gonna get drunk and completely improvise, so let me know somehow, pm or something if you wanna go. We hit the stage at 3 pm, I think it starts at 1, i'll be standing outside smoking a lot. Smell ya later!
