I'm not sure, maybe I've just made this up, but were there rumours that Sonic Youth were going to break up?

they better not! if they do i'll personally go round to each of their houses and try and smack some sense into them!

Here we go again. If Sonic Youth really, genuinelly, do decide to break up don't you think they would post it on the website to let thier fans know? Untill then everything is just speculation, and like all the other times everyone assumed SY were calling it quits the speculation has been wrong. They are still touring for RR, let's wait till they are done with this tour to see what they decide the next move should be for themselves, shall we?

6 to 9 more years as ''Sonic Youth'' and the records will be fewer, albeit the quality will probably increase with each record. When they do finally break up the band, they will continue to make music on their own and maybe see an occasional collaboration with: marclay,winant,surgal,corsano,o'rourke, etc....
Thurston will fund a non profit org dedicated to collection and restoration of Sun Ra records, art, home film, writing and stuff in general. I'll write out the others destiny at a later time....cheers and have a good day.
