Kid is Gone , box set 1 of 4 apparently.
Anyway, I'm excited for this Body/Head release. In my opinion, their releases so far haven't really sounded like one of their shows. Maybe I should give them another listen.

Bytor Peltor 06.26.2013 08:41 PM

Any idea where Kim got the green sunglasses?

My wife has a birthday coming up and would love to give her some like these.

EVOLghost 06.27.2013 11:20 AM

yeah...those are some kcikass shades.

Rob Instigator 06.27.2013 01:02 PM

Body/Head is excellent to skronk to while eating lunch in a University dining area.

Body/Head – 'Coming Apart' double LP / CD – coming September 10

Body/Head are an electric guitar duo comprised of Kim Gordon (CKM, Sonic Youth, Free Kitten, etc.) and Bill Nace (X.O.4, Vampire Belt, Ceylon Mange, etc.) The pair began working together in various loose formats a few years ago, but the Body/Head concept evolved more specifically in early 2012.
Initially their approach was almost entirely instrumental - lattices of interwoven feedback rainbows, with bits recalling everyone from Heldon to Keiji Haino. They usually performed against a backdrop of slow-motion film projection, creating a dream narrative of undeniable power and visionary reach. Kim's voice began creeping into the mix soon after, and the vocals now have become an intrinsic part of their musical architecture. They have even started writing and playing "songs" now, compositionally distinct from their purely aleatory origins, but still featuring lots of built-in improvisational space.
Body/Head have thus far recorded a single for Dennis Tyfuss' Ultra Eczema Editions, a tour EP for Nace's own Open Mouth Productions, and released their collaboration with Morley through Feeding Tube Records. Their next release , 'Coming Apart', will be issued as a double LP/CD/digital album by Matador Records on September 10 (September 16 in the United Kingdom and Europe). Pitchfork caught up with the duo recently to film a +1 session, featuring live performance and interview.
Preorder 'Coming Apart' from The Matador Store.

I think they are extremely focused on what they are doing.

Mortte Jousimo 08.21.2013 03:07 AM

Maybe it´s just my poor ability to use computer, but I can´t find any link of that new song in the article. Interesting article though.

Chris Lawrence 08.21.2013 03:27 AM

It's embedded between the introductory paragraphs and the beginning of the interview itself. Above "JESSICA: What was your first apartment in New York like?"

It's also here: http://www.bodyheadmusic.com/

Yes, I found it, but when I tried to open it, nothing happens. Same thing also those sites you put up. Well, maybe some program is missing in this computer (this is in my working place). I will try it in my home. Thanx anyway!

Yeah, it worked in my own computer. Great, better than anything I`ve heard before from Body/Head. Now I really wait also the album!

chris2159 08.28.2013 03:34 PM

Thanks for alerting me to the Actress preview, sounds great! I found that you can also see the track listing and preview samples from all songs on the Coming Apart album on I -Tunes. A couple of interesting sounding longer songs as well as more 'usual' length songs like 'Actress'. Really looking forward to this album release in a few weeks time……..

sirki 09.02.2013 11:27 AM

You can now stream the entire album at Pitchfork: http://pitchfork.com/advance/203-coming-apart/

halgreen 09.03.2013 02:57 PM

The pre-orders shipped today!

whorefrost 09.03.2013 04:25 PM

Shit. Sounding real good. I didn't even bother to buy Lee's album and Chelsea Light Moving have a few quite good songs. But this is the real deal, definitely the most interesting post-SY project thus far.

whorefrost 09.03.2013 04:33 PM

God. The Last Mistress rocks. Interesting track title as well, incidentally, with lyrics about territorial markings.

jennthebenn 09.03.2013 05:07 PM

This is as great as I wanted it to be.

SonicBebs 09.04.2013 12:56 AM

That Huffington interview was shit though.
Such boring questions

Genteel Death 09.04.2013 07:12 AM

I liked it a lot after giving it a couple of listens last night. The use of feedback on ''I Can Only Think of You In Abstract'' is a great opener for the album and there are some excellent ideas all over the place. I'm not 100% fond of Kim's vocals but then again I have never been. They suit the various atmospheres on the record and I am quite happy for that. This is the only SY-related release since ''The Eternal'' I know I will listen to over and over again.

jennthebenn 09.04.2013 07:25 AM

Seems that interviewers get too intimidated to ask Kim good questions. That, or every interviewer is a dunderhead.

After a couple more run-throughs, "Last Mistress" is the stand-out track. There are some moments on the album that put me in the "A Thousand Leaves" state of mind, which is always a plus.

Rob Instigator 09.04.2013 11:55 AM

I need to hit the record store as soon as I get my turntable back!

Totally agree Jenn, as soon as I first heard it Last Mistress was a complete standout for me, and I also get what you mean about the A Thousand Leaves vibe, something about Kim's guitar playing which is a lot freer than Lee's or Thurston's in some ways...

stu666 09.04.2013 12:55 PM

I did try to stream the album but it kept pausing, I've now decided to wait and hear it when I receive the vinyl. I'm sure it's going to be one of my best albums this year.

it did that with me too but reloading the page helped.

SonicBebs 09.05.2013 01:03 AM

I'm gonna wait too

Body/Head next week
Jim O'Rourke this week
Yoko Ono in 2 weeks

Turning out to be a big year

SuchFriendsAreDangerous 09.05.2013 01:15 AM

To SonicBebs, that is old school. I don't wait anymore, I don't always rush to get a new album, but I generally catch the stream when its "leaked" or in more legitimate instances "previewed". I can't help it, I come from the gutter and if it is even remotely shady it somehow always attracts my interest, even if its streamed by the band and perfectly legit, it somehow still feels slightly pirated ;)

mil_pl 09.05.2013 04:14 AM

The album is so-so.
