TV shows that featured Sonic Youth
 

There's a show in the UK called The South Bank Show, and way back in 1989 it did a documentary on the New York music scene titled "Put Blood In The Music". Naturally Sonic Youth were on it. I vaguely remember them being questioned by a group of young people, who were crouched on the floor. Maybe there wasn't enough chairs to go around and clearly Sonic Youth weren't expected to sit on the floor! God forbid! I also vaguely remember Kurt Cobain being on it, who was clearly friendly with the band, assing around like a school kid. Anyone here seen it?

I haven't watched it in a while, but I don't remember Kurdt being on that one. I know he's in 1991. Anyway, Put Blood In The Music is mostly about SY, but also about John Zorn, etc. It has some weird goofing around stuff like Steve pretending he got shot in their practice space. I need to watch it again now that you mention it.

is put blood in the music the one where that silver rocket video comes from? and there's the part where they 'shoot' steve, and lee's like "I CAN'T PLAAAY LIKE THIS"? and awkward time with john cale?

maybe these bits are all from different documentaries. i have no idea.

the shooting Steve part is from this, initially. And then it's reused in SILVER ROCKETS/COOL THINGS.
