hard to choose, dirty windows is a more cohesive work, east jesus is a compiling of misc. pieces over several years...

the only lee ranaldo spoken word stuff i've heard is "envisioning" with william hooker, but that one definitely deserves a vote.

All of Lee's recordings are objects of joy and wonder. Asking for a favourite among them is like asking a mother to choose her favourite child.

east jesus is fantastic, very beat inspired particularly the brooklyn bridge section at the start

east jesus shades it for me musically but the stories on dirty windows are better. verdict- east jesus!

I like cake.

both are favorites of mine......
i have honestly listened to "dirty windows" over 300 times.
no exagerating.....there was a while there where i was listening to it like every day because i connected with his writing style and music arrangements/jams so much.
if you like dirty windows...check his book "lengths and breaths"
