so jeaulous that you'll go to Prague's gig ;-). do you know anybody who would could possibly record it? I bought a ticket to one taper (i know from internet) in return for recording of that show, but he didn't reply to my mail for a couple of weeks now (if he got a ticket or no). hope he wont disappoint me.

I still need to book somewhere to stay for a Slint Don't Look Back show next Wed, and I'll probably use the cheapest available place for that and the SY show.

EDIT: Can any person recommend some dirt cheap shithole in the Northern outskirts of London? I really don't want to drive anywhere in the city, so I can't be bothered to end the sentence with a conclusion.

Ok thanks for the replies. Im staying at the Hostel Evol mentioned. It ranges from 16-22 quid per night per person depending on how many people are in the same room.

I've noticed there is a train from London to Leeds (where I live) at 11.30.

Apparently the venue has a curfew of 11.00 (I need this confirmed though).

I've never been to London before. Is it impractical to think that you could see all (or most of) the gig up until 10.45 or something, and then leave and get the tube to Kings Cross by 11.30?

sonicl 08.20.2007 04:49 AM

You probably will have to leave early, but it is only three or four Tube stops (eight to ten minutes) from Chalk Farm to Kings Cross so it shouldn't take too long to get from one to the other.

Transport for London Journey Planner

You'll be going from Chalk Farm to Kings Cross St Pancras. You'll need to make sure that the train you catch is posted as "Morden via Bank" - the other trains don't go through Kings Cross St Pancras. The ones you want leave Chalk Farm at 22:58, 23:05 and 23:13 - any later than that and you risk missing the train back up to Leeds.

To what are you Brits referring when you speak of "the tube". Is that some kind of limey slang for a subway?

sonicl 08.20.2007 05:02 AM

Yes. To us, a subway is a pedestrian underpass.
