What's the rarest song you've seen SY play live?

When I saw them in '04, they didn't play anything unusual, just some golden oldies, & stuff off "Sonic Nurse". & I was wondering if any of you have seen SY play anything rare that they usually don't play live?

silverfreepress (sdasher) 05.24.2006 01:24 AM

"inhuman", irving plaza, 11/30/02...they don't bust that one out too much these days.

if you want REAL rare, though...11/24/02, at the recher theatre in baltimore, they ran through a brief rendition of the already-brief half japanese classic "calling all girls" ("maryland's finest", thurston proclaimed).

CHOUT 05.24.2006 01:28 AM

Well, rare for me in the 9 times I've seen them was Death Valley 69.

krastian 05.24.2006 02:02 AM

I thought that was the one.

SubSonicPumpAction 05.24.2006 02:06 AM

2001: the carpenter's piece for piano from george maciunas. They nailed that piano June 10th in Gent Belgium.
I don't know how many piano's they wrecked on their goodbye tour but I wreckon not a lot.

connie kreski 05.24.2006 02:19 AM

shaking hell, last time in paris @ le nouveau casino...

marleypumpkin 05.24.2006 02:32 AM

Man, I'm jealous! Especially of kegmama.

Seeing Bikini Kill & SY @ the same show must have been life changing. & I agree, SY is the best live band ever.

dazedcola 05.24.2006 02:46 AM

they did a real amazing version of "burning spear" as a set opener the last time they were in boston.

Kissability and Skip Tracer on the same night... that was sweet (not to mention Rain on Tin live...)
Didn't post the show I saw on the Nurse tour, pretty dull setlist imo. There was this girl that flashed a sing saying "wish fulfilment please!" to Lee before the set, but no such luck.
