I was at the McCarren pool concert on August 12, 2006 and I'm almost positive he said Pink Steam was about that. Or rather, he said it was about some girl he met in 1978 who meant a lot to him... I'm guessing Kim.

haha, yeah, in the recent issue of bust the interviewer asks if their
relationship has inspired many of their song lyrics, and thurston mentions "i love her all the time." thurston and kim met in 80/81, so the "pink steam" dedication couldn't have been her. me and pantophobia were at that show too, and the previous one as well. most fun i've had in a pool ever. |
