I saw Ty Segall a while ago. Good show.

This is gonna sound extremely lame, but I gave up on going to concerts. And NO, I'm not getting too old for this shit, you smartypants reading this. It's the people. More precisely, it's the talkers, the wooers, the chanters (you know, the ones who may think they're singing along but turn everything —and I mean everything, even Dry Cleaning spoken-word tunes (!)— into hooligan fútbol chants). That ruins the whole damn event for me. Shut the fuck up!

I am, however, still open to attend shows by artists that mean a lot to me in the jazz/improv/contemporary classical/whachamacallit realm, where the audience is supposed to shut the fuck up.

SHUT THE FUCK UP.

I am also pretty much over concerts and the people who go to them. I’ll make the rare exception if the spouse wants desperately to see someone, but that’s it.
And frankly, for me, it IS because I’m kinda getting too old for this shit. I don’t want to be out past 10 p.m. if I can help it. Nor do I want to be stuck in a crowd, or breathing in people’s vape fumes.

Hmm, I've never had to deal with vaping at a concert, fortunately. As for the time, I'm A-OK because I'm an incurable night owl. But the fuckers, I can't ignore 'em anymore.
