Who reads Me & Jill on the Whitey album?

I love this track, its an essential for mix-tapes, but who's voice is this? I used to think it was Lee, but it really doesn't sound like him coming to think of it. Does anyone know?

steve

That's a tough one, now that you mention it. I used to automatically think that anything of that spoken-word nature would have to feature Lee's output, because he's always been the most beatnikkish of the bunch; but now I'm wondering, having heard Steve's voice in various interviews.

I always thought it was obviously Thurston

No way, definately not Thurston's voice I'm afraid. I think the Steve suggestion sounds most likely, I never knew he was such a fine poet!

█████████ is correct, it's Steve who recites Me & Jill.

Green Magnesium 04.18.2008 11:33 AM

Written by Lee and performed by Steve. Correct?

SYRFox 04.18.2008 12:40 PM

Yep, it's Steve, and the text was written by Lee

noisereductions 04.18.2008 01:25 PM

The text is in LENGTHS & BREATHS. As is "NYC Ghosts & Flowers."

You're all wrong. S.S. Beat Control contributes the reading of The Sigh's poem.

It sure as hell ain't me...

Of this much, I can be sure.
