the books were excellent, I had a friend who couldn't wait and would order them from the UK a year early. The movies are ok but really unnecessary, I really didn't feel it was needed to show the violent rape scene in such detail for such a long period of time, but with the Hollywood remake they get to show the rape scene all over again.

I read the Man from Beijing by Henning Mankel recently, another Swedish mystery writer, that was enjoyable.

As you might expect, I don't think its too far fetched that Laarson was executed.
