I think in England the more decisive social separator is class. Race is still an issue, obviously... Brits basically invented modern racism.. but class seems to be the bigger issue over there. People seem to be looked up/down to based on their dialect, education level, region and economic heritage. Maybe I’m wrong. Haven’t spent a ton of time in the U.K., and not in many years.
