Yes, like
Tio Pepe with lots of ice. The Spanish live on this stuff during summer. The other summer drink of choice - Tinto de verano - can be bought bottled in supermarkets but the alcohol percentage is quite low. I like to make it myself with cheap red wine lying around to improve potency and taste.
I noticed that
orange looking drink was popular in London when I visited recently so I wanted to try it when I got back home and ended up with a 2 for 1 deal in Weatherspoons. Turns out it was Aperol Spritz, served in these
huge glasses. Needless to say I was quite sloshed by the end. Happy days, but like you say it's a bit too sweet, like some sherry can be. I prefer dry.
As far as beer additives go I remember living on snakebites for a time, when getting drunk as fast as possible was of the uppermost importance. They consist of a pint, half lager, half cider, and they would blow your heed off. The lasses would add a dash of cordial blackcurrent thus changing the name to diesel. lol
10/10 thread, deserves more bumps.
