I went to the first show, and brought my wife who was experiencing tooth pain and headaches. She did not hate it, and did not kill me, though the timing was unfortunate. We both thought the opening film/music (more like computer animation effects and ambient electronica) guy was way lame, but TXTOLGHT were awesome. (thats my new texting shorthand for the band name) I hadn't seen Brakage before, was waiting to see this pairing, and it was sweet. I really like "Mammals of Victoria" the best of the three ("Water For Maya" and "I take these truths" being the remainder of the program) with it's mix of handpainted film and abstract water images. Lee's drone tone stood out; I think I saw him carrying a violin bow to the stage. I couldn't see him from my seat except when he stood up to attack his amp, but it was cool to be at a noise show and be able to pick out a player's parts by style recognition. Also we recorded the whole thing on our new iPhone's voice memo application, but I can't figure out how to load it onto the computer. Maybe that was not the best idea of how to do that. It sounds pretty good via headphones though. Tech help anyone? If I figure it out i'll post it somewheres...

I kind of wanted to talk to Lee afterward too (about his Yuri Landeman custom guitar, harp guitars, sustainer devices, the village of Joujouka, etc...) but there was only a quick brake between shows and he was otherwise engaged. Can't blame him though.
