The first time I ever heard it was when MTV premiered the video. So, the video and the song are indelibly linked in my mind. And I love that video...
My first impression of the song itself was "Holy shit! Where is the noise? Where are the dense guitar chords?" But Lee had kind of prepared us for that when he described EJSTNS in the Sonic Death fanzine. He said something about more empty space being in the music. Once I got over the initial shock, it became one of my favorite songs.
