I coudn't disagree with that statement any more, it doesn't really hold up... because if you can write good music on an acoustic guitar it can usually sound good an an electric, it does not usually work the other way around (depends obviously on the context), that is why alot of musicians begin to write on acoustic even though they are electric guitarists, Thurston included as he's written many songs on acoustic that end up being electric SY songs. also Thurston's new album is quite good and its mostly acoustic guitar! unless you don't like it?
