I'm not sure if I would be so into the Kosugi session if it was indeed taken from the same session as SYR4. something about the album doesn't sit well with me. it has a similar feel to the Fontaine collab, slightly restrained, conceptual to the point of almost being too abstract and disciplined.
I think this varies from J'Accuse Ted Hughes which reminds me more of SYR6, SYR3, which is more like straight from the source intuitive improv
which for me is a direct continuition and/or rock equivalent of free jazz and is inherently more exhilarating...
