  • 3-disc compilation of tracks recorded live at the 1997 and 1996 Tibetan Freedom Concerts. Disc one is from June 7th, 1997 @ Randall's Island, NY. Disc two is from June 6th, 1997 @ Randall's Island. Disc three, which is also enhanced for CD-Rom bonuses, is from the June 15th and 16th, 1996 shows in San Francisco (which SY also performed at -- the snippet of "Bull In The Heather" on the "Free Tibet" video is from the June 16th show).
  • The packaging is really quite remarkable, including a 66 page booklet containing all sorts of info on the Milarepa Fund, quotes from performers, information on the included tracks, and much more.
  • Sonic Youth's contribution to the compilation is the wonderful instrumental version of "Wildflower" (later released w/ vocals on A Thousand Leaves as "Wildflower Soul") from the June 7th, 1997 performance (note that the liners cite Kim as playing bass, though she played guitar). The compilation's cover shot of Thurston is also taken from SY's set.
