NOTES:

  • This is a strange piece previously unreleased prior to its inclusion on the Bad Moon Rising CD. It seems to be taken directly from the intro to a Pink Floyd song called "Keep Your Filthy Hands Off My Desert" (that's what's being shouted, followed by a clever "what'd he say?" before the massive speaker-destroying explosion sound hits). It seems to be a direct sample, w/ some additional manipulation (note the run-out groove sound at the end).
  • Sonic Youth's studio between 1996 and 2006 was most commonly referred to as "Echo Canyon".
  • A sample of Echo Canyon is featured in the hazy noise of Thurston's European Son cover on the End of Music (As We Know It) compilation.
  • Some Bad Moon Rising CDs seem to be missing this track altogether.
  • "Echo Canyon" is a term Lee got from an old Superman television show. His spoken word on the first track of his "Scriptures of the Golden Eternity" release explains its origins.
